Current responsibilities and work history

As maintenance manager, Charlie Michalak is responsible for planning scheduling and economic control of all building, plant and distribution system maintenance as well as parts inventory. He previously served as maintenance supervisor.

He began his career as a pipe fitter helper with Brown & Root Construction and within two years became pipe foreman. He worked several of the company’s projects in the Houston area until he was assigned to work at the Houston Natural Gas Company Plant at the Texas Medical Center, the plant that now is owned and operated by TECO. He was intrigued by the operation and applied for a job at the plant, where he remains today.
