Bruce Turner, PE, CPE

Current responsibilities and work history

Bruce Turner, PE, CPE, is TECO’s vice president, engineering. He is responsible for all plant engineering and maintenance functions, including design, project management systems and expansion and was TECO’s project manager for $377 million Master Plan Implementation Project from 2007-2011. He also is in charge of environmental, safety and health programs; IT; and security.

Prior to assuming his current position, Bruce served in numerous roles at TECO, including project engineer, engineering manager, and plant manager.

He previously worked with Houston Lighting and Power Company (HL&P), where he was responsible for all contracted construction activities in HL&P’s operating fossil fuel power plants. Earlier in his career, Turner served five years as an officer in the U.S. Navy operating nuclear power plants on the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Nimitz.
