Job Title: Plant Engineer

We have one opening for an experienced Plant Engineer. This person must be able to coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, and completion of engineering projects within their area of assigned responsibility; identify, research, develop, design, and test components, equipment, and systems. This person will provide engineering support for operations and maintenance including interface with plant operating personnel, procurement, consulting engineers, equipment vendors, and construction contractors. This person may lead teams of plant and contract personnel to complete work, and they must be a self-starter that can take vaguely defined problems and come up with well-defined solutions. Applicant must have experience with rotating and fixed equipment such as centrifugal pumps, centrifugal chiller compressors, gas turbines, heat exchangers, and boilers/HRSGs.  Several years of in-plant experience (refinery, chemical plant, power plant, chiller plant, etc.) is a big plus along with personal mechanical skills.  Prior experience managing mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation craft personnel is desirable.  Knowledge of predictive maintenance strategy, vibration analysis, medium and high voltage equipment, NERC standards, and control logic/DCS is a plus. Applicants must have excellent computer skills including use of Excel spread sheets as well as other Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of AutoCAD, hydraulic modeling software, and pipe stress analysis is a plus.


Educational and/or experience requirements consist of a BS Engineering degree (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) from an ABET accredited college or university; eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Texas P.E. license a plus, or ability to obtain within 2 years.
