Sustainable Business Magazine Features TECO

Sustainable Business Magazine featured Thermal Energy Corporation's (TECO's) combined heat and power-based district energy system in its 05/16 issue, highlighting how it provides reliable, cost-effective energy to the Texas Medical Center.

The article about TECO, titled "Critical Load," is part of the publication's series on district energy and CHP prepared in coordination with the International District Energy Association (IDEA). The 05/16 issue includes articles on Markham District Energy in Canada and IDEA. TECO is a longstanding IDEA member.

In his foreword to the district energy/CHP series, IDEA President and CEO Rob Thornton assesses the role such systems play in today's energy industry: "Today, the convergence of generating electricity and useful heat and cooling is a proven technology that can reduce regional greenhouse gas emissions and help to optimize the grid. As our cities expand in population and the need for more resilient energy services increases, the value and appeal of district energy/CHP widens."

TECO is pleased to be a part of Sustainable Business Magazine. District energy/CHP indeed creates a more sustainable future for our customer institutions on the Texas Medical Center campus.
