Current responsibilities and work history

Barbara is responsible for TECO’s environmental compliance. She handles recordkeeping, inspection, registrations, reporting, communication with agencies and consultants, testing coordination, permit modifications, renewal submissions and employee training. She’s also TECO’s point person for the Community Right-to-Know program.

In addition, Barbara is in charge of TECO’s safety compliance, overseeing monthly committee meetings and coordinating safety suggestion follow-up with TECO managers. She also oversees the company’s specialized employee safety training program and orders and maintains PPE, first aid cabinets and hurricane-team gear.

Previously Barbara was a regulatory consultant in both Texas and New England and worked as the on-site EHS coordinator for several oil and gas and industrial clients. Barbara also worked as an investigator in both hazardous waste and wastewater programs for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and its predecessor agency, Texas Water Commission, and as an environmental investigator for Galveston County Health District.
