Current responsibilities and work history

Melissa Ripple serves as TECO’s training manager. She has prepared and is implementing an overall training program plan and is developing specific training programs for new operator hires. Next she will put ongoing operator and maintenance training programs in place.

Melissa was previously employed at the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Co. (STPNOC) in Palacios, Texas, for more than 16 years. She started as a mechanical engineer in STPNOC’s maintenance engineering department and eventually became a licensed training instructor.

As training instructor, Melissa developed, administered, documented and participated in all phases of the operations and maintenance training programs. She conducted periodic training program audits and developed lesson plans and reference materials to support training. She was also a lead regulatory exam author.
