Thermal Energy Corporation (TECO) currently has an opening for an Operations Trainee. Once selected, the successful candidate will be working in a Chill Water and Steam Plant in one of the largest district energy plants in the U.S. This person will have the opportunity to work with some of the latest equipment and technology in a clean, tobacco-free environment. The ideal candidate will operate large centrifugal chillers and medium-pressure boilers, and work a modified DuPont shift schedule, consisting of 12-hour rotating shifts with scheduled OT.
Education and/or experience consists of a high school diploma, good demonstrated math, reading, and oral communication skills, and knowledge of operation of large centrifugal chillers, medium-pressure boilers, steam turbine-driven equipment, pumps and their associated piping, valves and system controls. Previous experience with a minimum of one year operating a distributed process controls system, and/or training with chiller equipment and gas turbines is plus. Candidate must be capable of obtaining a stationary engineer’s license.
