TECO Marks Safety Achievement

TECO’s employees recently celebrated a major safety milestone: one year without a recordable or lost-time accident. To mark the accomplishment, TECO presented a Yeti cooler to each full-time employee.

TECO takes safety seriously and believes a safe workplace sets the tone for everything we do. “We believe safety is an attitude,” says TECO President and CEO Steve Swinson. “The achievement is no small task given many of our employees work with heavy equipment and tools. Their conscientious plant and distribution system operation ensures not only their personal safety, but the safety of others and the ongoing reliability of our chilled-water and steam service for our customers.”

TECO employees picked up their brand-new, boxed coolers right off a forklift on Dec. 22, TECO’s one-year accident-free anniversary.

Per OSHA, a recordable injury is a work-related injury that results in death, days away from work, restricted work or transfer to another job, medical treatment beyond first aid, or loss of consciousness. A lost workday is a day away from work caused by an on-the-job injury or illness.

Congratulations to our crews on a job well – and safely – done!
