About TECO

Houston-based Thermal Energy Corporation (TECO) has provided reliable, cost-effective and energy-efficient cooling and heating to institutions in the Texas Medical Center since 1969. TECO uses district energy and CHP technology to produce chilled water and steam, which we pipe underground to more than 19 million square feet of customer buildings at 18 institutions. With a solid track record of performance, TECO is well-positioned to provide the energy behind what’s next for the buildings and pace-setting services and research at the world-renown Texas Medical Center.

In FY2016, TECO refunded $2.962 million to customers as a result of the savings from its efficient combined heat and power system. Previously it refunded $9 million in FY2011, $2.3 million in FY2012, $1.052 million in FY2013, $5.038 million in FY2014 and $3.16 million in FY2015 .
