TECO Employee Events - Fall and Winter 2023
The early part of a new year is a good time to look both forward to new opportunities and exciting things ahead, as well as back at the events that helped lead to this point. TECO was pleased to end 2023 on a high note, continuing our track record of reliable service alongside a commitment to creating a meaningful and collaborative employee experience. With the festive season behind us, let’s take a moment to reflect on some special days from the second half of 2023.
As Houston endured another sweltering summer that slowly faded into the fall season, TECO once again hosted its annual employee health fair. Organized by human resources, this event provides team members an opportunity to connect with financial and health representatives from partner organizations, ask questions, gather information, and participate in blood pressure and health screenings. Flu shots were offered to employees and there were also previews of new healthy products, and a “wheel of wellness” which offered information on various health-related topics.
Moving through October, the events team’s Halloween Spooktacular included a catered lunch with treats, and just two weeks later, TECO held its Thanksgiving Luncheon. This special day brings employees together for a traditional Thanksgiving meal and an opportunity to spend quality time together while on-site at the plant. Additionally, the luncheon serves as the kickoff to TECO’s Annual Toy Drive. For nine years, TECO’s employees have enthusiastically and generously brought in toys and games for all ages, which are then donated to children receiving treatment at one of the TMC hospitals. This year, 120 items were given to children and teens at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The events team hosts holiday gatherings on two different days in mid-December. With all of the activity currently on site, this provides more folks an opportunity to connect and celebrate with coworkers.
December and the year wrapped up with one final events team effort – the recognition of November and December birthdays.
Human resources, the events team, and the larger TECO organization are proud of the work and dedication displayed by our employees each year. We are excited to continue moving our mission and our people forward in 2024.
