TECO Employee Events - Summer 2022 Rewind

Even with plenty of work to do, the summer does lend itself to taking a few moments here and there to enjoy the weather and those uniquely summertime experiences.  TECO’s Event Team was proud to mix in some special treats and team building opportunities throughout the season’s calendar. Here are a few of the highlights:

The week before 4th of July, a special delivery arrived in the form of TECO’s yearly employee appreciation gift.  This year’s selection, blue, collapsible wagons featuring a white TECO logo, were the perfect accessory for heading out to the holiday picnics and fireworks displays taking place just a few days later.  It was great to see everyone’s reactions to this fun and functional item and we hope they find lots of continued use throughout the year for beach visits, camping, tailgating, or wherever the weekend leads. 

What is summer without some good food?  On August 10, employee favorite Catfish on Wheels made a repeat appearance for an all-employee luncheon. This unique food truck concept catered a full-scale lunch buffet of catfish and shrimp with plenty of sides and iced tea.  

This year also saw the return of one of TECO’s signature summer events, a day at the ballpark taking in a Houston Astros game.  This is one of the most popular special events of the year and employees enjoy the opportunity to sit together and relax outside of work, together with family and friends.  There were approximately 150 TECO team members in the stands for the game. TECO proudly represented the hometown team as they took on the Oakland Athletics. The Astros delivered a shutout win with a score of 5 to 0.  Doesn’t get much better than that!
