Current responsibilities and work history
As vice president of plant operations, Jason Berrio, PE, is responsible for TECO’s plant operational leadership, National American Electric Reliability Corp. compliance, energy efficiency and management, and fuel procurement.
Jason joined TECO after serving 16 years in increasingly responsible positions at the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company. Most recently he was Operations Manager-Integrated Work Management Center & Outage and a licensed Senior Reactor Operator, one of fewer than 50,000 people in the U.S. who have achieved this license.
Previously he served nine years in the U.S. Navy submarine force, which included training at the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power School. He subsequently served as an instructor at a U.S. Navy Nuclear Prototype for three years, closing out his naval career on the USS Bluefish submarine as an Engineering Watch Supervisor.
