Requirements of this position include pipefitting, general welding, civil work, carpentry, structural fitting, heavy equipment operation, and electrical work experience. Must be able to access underground vaults to perform PM service in close tolerance work areas of steam distribution system.
Ability to interact with contractors and the general public, as well as have good field engineering and organization skills. Also, must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, plans, and procedure manuals; write routine reports; and, communicate effectively.
Education and or experience requirements include high school diploma or general education degree (GED); seven years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical requirements regularly require use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move more than 100 lbs and climb stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
