Job Title: Energy Manager

Thermal Energy Corporation (TECO) currently has an opening for an experienced Energy Manager. Once selected, the successful candidate will be working in a thermal energy plant environment in one of the largest district energy plants in the U.S. This person must be able to provide accurate data and guidance for the efficient and economic operation of the TECO plants; ensure equipment performance remains within manufacturers' and TECO's guidelines; coordinate service between TECO and customers; promote good relations between TECO and its customers. This person will review data on customer consumption, data for billing program and monthly customer bills. This person will monitor natural gas and electric futures market and makes recommendations to purchase gas or electricity hedges to optimize utility costs; forecast daily natural gas consumption based on operating models and coordinate gas nominations with suppliers; forecast production and rates for long range planning including additional new facilities; assist with Master Planning for TECO and customers; create/update plant equipment dispatch models and recommend operating parameters to maximize plant efficiency while maintaining plant reliability and resiliency.  This person will work closely with plant Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering personnel to identify potential efficiency and sustainability improvements within the plant facilities.      

 

Applicants must have an in-depth knowledge of chilled water plant systems, steam system operations, and power generation systems; strong analytical capabilities to review plant operations and analyze data on the production performance of the plants and plant equipment efficiencies.  Applicants must have excellent computer skills including use of Excel spread sheets as well as other Microsoft Office products.  

 

Educational and/or experience requirements consist of a BS Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited four-year college or university; minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Texas P.E. license preferred.
