All major electric grids create carbon emissions – and all will continue to do so until they are supported 100% by renewable or nuclear generation. Until then, any solution that reduces grid load by increasing efficiency is a step toward decarbonization, insofar as decarbonization means less reliance on fossil fuels. Turbine inlet cooling, or TIC, when applied to district energy generation, is one such solution.
