Safety First, Safety Always

TECO employees are focused on safety, and their efforts are paying off. TECO recently celebrated one year without an OSHA-recordable or lost-time accident. To mark the accomplishment, TECO presented a brand-new YETI cooler to each employee on October 25, 2021. (See gallery below.)

“Safety isn’t just a word at TECO,” says Mike Manoucheri, PE, TECO’s interim president and CEO. “It’s our culture, it’s who we are. We encourage employee involvement and solicit safety improvement suggestions. Employees have great ideas on how we can create an even safer work environment. We are grateful for their involvement and their commitment to putting safety first.”

Previously TECO marked five years safe from 2016 to 2020.

Per OSHA, a recordable injury is a work-related injury that results in death, days away from work, restricted work or transfer to another job, medical treatment beyond first aid, or loss of consciousness. A lost workday is a day away from work caused by an on-the-job injury or illness.

Thank you, TECO team, for working safely to provide reliable service day in and day out!
